Magic Workshop
Stephen
also offers magic workshops, where he teaches a selection of tricks to
groups of children and adults. The magic workshop lasts for approximately
60 minutes.
Stephen successfully ran his own magic school in America over the summer
of 2007 where he taught magic each day to groups of children for 8
weeks. He then returned home to return to his job as an ICT
high-school teacher, before leaving that profession to become a
magician full-time. He now teaches magic classes in your home,
village hall or in the classroom.
Stephen
prefers to work with small groups so that he can teach more
effects in each class, but has done lessons in the classroom for up to 30
children in the past with great success. When working with so
many children however, each requiring some personal instruction
on how to perform the effect, simpler tricks will be taught so
as to best appeal to everyone.
The magic Stephen teaches is specific to the audiences age. If
performing for young children, he will teach simple effects that are
easy to master and fun to perform.
When working with teenagers, he prefers to teach sleight-of-hand
effects, such as ring tricks and card tricks.
Often the
magic workshops are done in the living room of the home to a
small group of children (approximately 8-12). They are great for
after-school parties during the week and for the older children
who wish to learn some magic to show their family and friends.
All the props
& magic sets required to run the workshop are provided, and the
children can take them away to continue practicing at home.
There are a selection of workshops available, so different ones can
be requested for repeat bookings. But most often he teaches a
variety of effects including Ring Manipulation, Card tricks, Money
Tricks, Dice Tricks and Body Tricks.
Stephen has also written a
book on printable magic effects for learning and teaching which is
available for free to any client (via e-mail). This can be reproduced and
distributed to all the students in the class should you wish.
